Of feminine ideals, the roles of women and the world’s most marvellous dresses.
Europe’s most complete collection of women’s clothes and accessories from 1820 to 1990 may be admired at the heart of Merano. Named after its founder, Ms Evelyn Ortner (1944-1997), the Museum of Women introduces you to 200 years of history. Besides a permanent exhibition entitled “the ideals of beauty, the roles of women and women&work”, temporary exhibitions and readings are organised. Moreover, the museum also features a special library dedicated to fashion, female research and costumes.
