The pastures of Val Sopranes

Six mountain huts at about 2,100 m and ten deep-blue lakes are waiting to be discovered.

Starting point is cable car slightly above the village of Tirolo, which takes you to the Hochmut inn at 1,361 m. From here trail no. 22 leads to a mountain inn called Mutkopf (1,648 m). Now hike further along the mountain ridge until you reach a little fork at 1,820 m.

Continue on trail no. 22 until you arrive to another fork. Turn left, proceed on a trail named “Jägersteig” first and then on trail no. 25, which takes you to a saddle called “Pfitscher Sattel”. Soon you will arrive to two mountain lakes, the first one named “Pfitscher Lacke”and slightly further the “Kasersee”. The Oberkaser hut at 2,131 m is within easy reach, where you might have a little break. Now you have been hiking for about 3 hours.

Hike downwards on path no. 6, taking you across Val di Sopranes to several pastures and huts, called Unterkaser, Bockerhütte and Spronser Alm. From here you hike further downwards to two other huts called Longfall Alm and Longfall Hof, where again they serve food and beverage. Now follow trail no. 8 until you reach an inn called “Tiroler Kreuz” and back to the base station of the cable car.
