The Merano high alpine path is also called "Alta Via di Merano". If you would like to hike the whole path, you should consider that it is about 100 km long and that this hike will take 3 to 8 days, depending also on your condition. Along the path there are several teverns where you can stop and stay overnight... best conditions for a unique multi-day trip.
Stunning is also the view you enjoy while walking. This hiking path encircles the mountain peaks of the Gruppo di Tessa and it offers a fabulous view on the Val Sarentino mountain chain as well as the Stubai and Ötztal Alps. At your feet there is the basin of Merano as well as the Val Senales and the Val Passiria.
The high alpine path of Merano is devided a northern and a southern part. The respective starting and end points are Monte San Caterina in the Val Senales as well as Ulvas in the Val Passiria. If you decide to hike the southern part of the path you come along with magnificient mountain peaks. The northern part of the path takes you through the Val di Fosse and the Val Passiria as well as to the highest point of the walk, which is the Passo Gelato (2.895 m). You just have to choose which direction to take!
