The Kurhaus is located in the second largest city of South Tyrol and it is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau. In 1874 the historic building was inaugurated and consisted of today’s western wing. In these days the Kurhaus was illuminated by 102 gas flames, which have been replaced in 1897 by electric lights. Artits carrying out the ceiling paintings in the Kursaal were Rudolf Jettmar, Horazio Gaigher and Alexander Rothaug.
