Schwemmalm - Val d’Ultimo

The snow-sure skiing area Schwemmalm in Val d’Ultimo offers 18 km of ski slopes. The longest valley run overcomes 1,100 m.

The skiing area Schwemmalm makes you skiing up to 2,600 m asl and offers some 18 km of well groomed ski slopes as well as an impressive panoramic view on the surrounding mountains, including the Ortles mountain massif.

One of the jewels in this skiing area is the new ski slope at the foot of the Cima Muta, one of the greatest slopes all over South Tyrol, offering wide slopes, perfect for carving. The longest valley run overcomes considerable 1,100 m. In general, the ski slopes of this skiing area are of medium difficulty. The steepest passage is included in the so called Asmol ski slope.

Beginners and experts, adults and the little ones, everyone feels at ease in this skiing area. Children are cared for in the ski kindergarden, where they love to play with their mates, while parents enjoy skiing. If you would like to make your first passes on snow, the Val d’Ultimo ski school lends you a helping hand. Moreover there are ski and snowboard rentals, where the latest equipment is available.

For those who spend some days in Val d’Ultimo and do not want to ski, there is a toboggan run named “Moscha”. Within a walk of 20 minutes you reach the start of the toboggan run, overcoming an altitude drop of 500 m. As this run is illuminated, you can also enjoy this activity at night.
Those who prefer cross-country skiing will enjoy skating along the Val d’Ultimo cross-country ski trail, taking them across snow-covered forests and meadows.

For all those who would like to leave their car at home, there is a bus from Merano to San Pancrazio, from where a free shuttle service takes you into the skiing area. No matter if you prefer skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing or tobogganing, winter in Val d’Ultimo is like it was once upon a time. Fairy-tale like.
