Passo dello Stelvio National Park and Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park are the protected areas in Merano and surroundings.

Mother earth from its most beautiful side, that’s what the nature parks of Merano and surroundings offer. Gruppo di Tessa nature park is the largest of its kind in South Tyrol and provides lasting natural impressions. This park includes the localities of Senales, Naturno, Parcines, Lagundo, Tirolo, Rifiano, S. Martino and Moso in Passiria. The Passo dello Stelvio national park, likewise located in the Meraner Land, represents the largest historic protected area of Italy and features alpine pastures rough peaks, beautiful mountain rivers and in general a varied flora and fauna.
