Cima Mutta

Cima Mutta is one of the main panoramic mountains surrounding the city of Merano and represents a popular hiking destination in the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park.

Cima Mutta (2,291 m asl - Mutspitze in German) is a popular hiking destination above the spa town of Merano and provides a great view on the city and surroundings, Val Venosta and far further. This mountain summit represents the south east cornerstone of the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park.

The hiking trail leading on the summit of this mountain is not really challenging and difficult and is thus also recommended to not too experienced mountaineers. From Cima Mutta you can enjoy a great view on Val Venosta, Merano and environs and the surroundings Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park.

A hiking suggestion: from Tirolo you reach the mountain station of the Hochmuth funicular at 1,423 m asl. From this point you walk to the tavern Gasthof Mutkopf via path n°22. Proceed on a narrow ridge on path n°23 up to Cima Mutta summit.
