Walking along the Chestnut trail

The chestnut trail in Foiana is an easy walk suitable both for adults and children who love to discover the great outdoors on foot.

The Chestnut experience trail starts at the little village of Foiana above tho locality of Lana. From the parking space in the centre we walk along the so called “Probst-Wieser-Weg” up to a junction , where we turn right. We follow the signs and walk past the farm Weinreichhof. When we reach an oversize chestnut hedgehog we have reached the start of the chestnut experience trail.

Along the path, there are 10 stops with information panels, photographs and installations providing useful information on sweet chestnuts.
As the trail is a round course, it takes us back to our starting point, from where we can also walk back to Foiana. Of course this path is recommendable above all in autumn, but you can also pleasantly walk in spring or summer.
