Hiking to the Spitzneralm alpine pasture in Val d’Ultimo

Breath the fresh air on the Spitzneralm alpine pasture in Val d’Ultimo at an altitude of 1,847 m.

This hike in Val d’Ultimo starts in S. Valburga (1,131 m) in the eastern part of the village, where you take the path n° 21/22, which already indicates the alpine pasture “Spitzneralm”, which is our hiking destination. Follow this trail, taking you to a river, across a bridge and to the bottom of the mountain.
This is where you have to turn left, following the sign “Spitzneralm” along trail n° 22. Continue across lovely mountain pastures to the Spitzneralm alpine pasture at 1.847 m. This is where you should stop for a while and have a snack, or a glass of fresh milk?!

As for the way back you might choose a different trail. At the beginning follow the same path used for the way up. Then hike along path no. 22A on your left, which takes you to the small Holzschlag refuge in the west (1,571 m). Now follow path no. 21, which brings you back to the bridge at the bottom of the mountain, where you started the hike.
