Touriseum
The Touriseum, the South Tyrolean Museum of Tourism, is located at Trauttmansdoff Castle.
How to get there? Just take bus no. 1A or no. 4 in the city centre. Obviously there are also some parking sites for cars there. The Touriseum and the Botanic Gardens of Castel Trauttmansdorff are accessible with one common ticket, for families with a family ticket.
Opened in 2003, the South Tyrolean Museum of Tourism was thought as a further attraction to the visitors of the stunning Botanic Gardens of Castel Trauttmansdorff. In a stimulating and entertaining manner it shows the historical development of tourism in South Tyrol. Vacationers and travelers can kinda watch themselves in this museum, together with their motives for travelling, their behaviour, illusions and expectations.
On the second floor of the castle f.e. today a small exhibition on the Empress Elisabeth (Sissi) and her time in Merano can be found.
Opening hours and prices:
from the end of March to the end of October daily from 9 am - 7 pm, November 1-15 daily from 9 am - 5 pm, every Friday in June, July and August from 9 am - 11 pm, ticket adults from Euro 11.00, free entry for children up to 5 years
The Touriseum and the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle represent a single attraction. The entry ticket is valid for both.
