Stachlburg Castle
Castel Stachlburg is located at Parcines and is a typical Tyrolean castle.
This castle dates back to the 13th century and was constructed as seat of ministerialis in Tyrolean style.
Only in 1540 Georg Stachl purchased the castle and was ennobled with the title von Stachlburg. From this point of time the castle was called the same way, and still today it does so. In 1809 the owner of the castle, Johann Graf Stachlburg, died in the famous Bergisel battle. He left the castle to his three granddaughters. These three women all married a man of the Giovanelli family.
The possessor of Stachlburg Castle today is still bound up with the Giovanelli family via his great grandmother. Today at Castel Stachlburg there is a vineyard with winery, where excellent wines of biologic agriculture are produced.
