IceMusic Festival

The IceMusic festival on the glacier in Val Senales presents concerts performed with frozen instruments.

The much-noticed world premiere on the glacier in Val Senales in February 2007 lay the foundation for the success the event has today. Every year it attracts visitors from all over onto the glacier of Val Senales, venue for the IceMusic festival, including a number of concerts with special music instruments.

A huge ice cathedral at the border of the Val Senales skiing area has been constructed by the American artist Tim Linhart. Above the 15 m high ice cave two flanking aisles have been built, overstretched by a 12 m high cupola. Also the stage, seat rows and the bar have been constructed of ice, which is unique worldwide in these dimensions.

However, not only the concert hall is unique, but also the instruments on which the musicians play are sensational, as also the instruments are made of ice. The musicians are also famous on an international level and will make visitors’ heart leap for joy, every year in winter.
