The most striking attraction of Tirolo is Castel Tirolo, enthroning a hill above the city of Merano. Due to its vicinity to the city, you can comfortably visit the Botanic Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle or the Thermal Baths of Merano. Moreover Tirolo is an ideal starting point for hikes in the heart of the Gruppo di Tessa mountain range. -
Scena is situated on a sun-drenched hill above the city of Merano and provides a great view on the Sarentino Alps with Monte Ivigna and Monte Cervina. One of the most remarkable features of the village is the hill enthroned by the ancient and new parish churches. Equally impressive are the mausoleum and Castel Scena. -
About 5 km from the center, the Merano 2000 skiing area provides slopes for every difficulty level and varied other possibilities: There is a vast trail network, a natural sledge track, a big area for kids and a monorail toboggan run
Merano and surroundings is a highly diversified region: on the one hand it is characterised by the mountains of the Gruppo di Tessa with its Alpine flora and fauna, on the other hand it boasts a mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation with palm and lemon trees.
Also rich green pastures, vineyards and fruit orchards make the oh-so sunny hamlets and villages such as Lagundo, Parcines or Marlengo so special. Of course this area also boasts several sights and interesting events, some pretty churches, chapels, castles and manors as well as numerous museums, promising unforgettable holidays in a unique spot of land at the bottom of majestic mountains.
