One of South Tyrol's most excellent athletes

Armin Zöggeler is another outstanding celebrity of the Burgraviato region. He is a passionate top athlete, an artificial track luger of the Italian national team, carabiniere, a double Olympic champion, multiple world champion and World Cup overall champion and obviously an inspiring model. Did you know that the father of two in February 2007 won the World Cup for the 36th time already?

It was Armin Zöggeler winning the 2005 Luge World Championships of Park City, with his strongest opponent, German Georg Hackl, coming only second. After Lillehammer, Königssee (Germany), Calgary and Sigulda (Latvia), this was Zöggeler's fifth World Championship title. And when coming first at the World Cup finals in Sigulda in February 2007 he was awarded World Cup overall champion for the sixth time.

In 2002 and 2006 Armin Zöggeler, moreover, won the Olympic Games and in South Tyrol he was offered the “Athlete of the Year” award already for the sixth time!
