Schloss Lebenberg

Monteleone Castle

Rococo and Venetian mirrors

Monteleone Castle is a splendid castle amidst colourful vineyards. Where to find it? High above the municipality of Cermes!

Built in the 13th century by the Lords of Marlengo, Monteleone Castle is probably one of the most beautiful buildings of the Burgraviato region. Also known as Lebenberg Castle, it features a number of treasures. Lovers of culture and architecture can look forward for instance to a three-floors high chapel of the 14th century, picturesque inner courtyards, a French flower garden and a Venetian hall of mirrors, dating back to the rococo era. Worth seeing are also the hall of knights and the hall of arms. Nowadays the castle belongs to Mr and Ms Cornelius van Rossem.
